Sudan, Africa´s largest country, has been devastated by continuous civil wars since its independence from Great Britain in 1956.
These conflicts have come as a result of decades of enormous differences between the more developed Arabic/Islamic northern part of the country and the black, Christian and animist communities of the southern regions.
On top of religious tensions, the violence, caused by the ongoing fight for the natural resources control and the famine that has hit the country several times, has drawn Sudan in a deep humanitarian crisis. Over 4,5 million Sudanese citizens live in poverty as displaced refugees.
Amsudan (the Spanish acronym for Aid for the Missions of Sudan) carries out a very important labor for Sudan´s development. The organization uses 100% of the donations received to build a future in Sudan through well defined projects with specific timelines. Amsudan has already built 9 schools across the country and has several projects in the pipeline.
Solarpack has made its contribution to help the combonian fathers of Amsudan through the installation of a 30 kw PV generation facility in a school in Sudan.
